Statistics compiled by the car rental company “Booking Group Corporation” on the EconomyBookings.com platform reveal that this summer season, Latvians most frequently use car rental services when traveling abroad in Italy, Spain, and Germany.
The data also shows an interesting trend that Latvia ranks as the fourth most popular country where residents rent cars, which can be attributed to people taking longer leisure trips and opting for long-term car rentals during the summer season.
“The growing popularity of car rentals in Latvia suggests that residents are enjoying their vacations by choosing to travel by car within the Baltic States during the summer, leading to an increase in demand for long-term rentals in the local market. In such cases, the services we offer are more cost-effective than short-term car rental options, which are convenient for brief trips,” says Alen Baibekov, Chairman of the Board at “Booking Group Corporation.”
Analyzing the data on residents’ car rental trends during the summer season, it can be concluded that popular travel destinations also include Portugal, Greece, and Cyprus, which rank among the top ten summer tourism destinations where cars are rented. This trend indicates that despite the warm weather in Latvia, residents still travel to southern countries with particularly hot climates during the summer.
When booking a car on the online platform EconomyBookings.com, it is possible to choose the most convenient car pick-up location. This summer, the most popular locations are Milan Malpensa and Bergamo airports in Italy. The fourth most popular car pick-up location is Malaga Airport, followed by Barcelona Airport in Spain.
