For the majority of Latvia’s population in leadership positions, 82% consider the most important criterion when choosing a rental car to be the most favorable price. This was determined in a survey of residents commissioned by the company “Booking Group Corporation” and conducted on the platform EconomyBookings.com in March of this year.
To improve and diversify the offered services, “Booking Group Corporation” decided to ask residents in leadership positions about the most important car selection criteria and the most common reasons people rent cars.
The most important criterion for car rental choice among those in leadership positions is the price, indicated by 82% of respondents. The second most important factor influencing their choice is the pick-up and drop-off locations, with 65% mentioning this. This suggests that executives value not only the most favorable price but also the convenience offered.
Interestingly, the least important criteria for choosing a car rental service are the popularity of the booking site, mentioned in only 6% of cases, and the language of the website and customer support, considered important by only 7% of executives.
“Although the survey results indicate that respondents do not consider the popularity of the website and service languages to be crucial, we regularly invest in the development of the e-commerce platform EconomyBookings.com, which is one of the company’s main strategic directions for improving customer service,” says Alen Baibekov, Chairman of the Board of “Booking Group Corporation,” adding that maintaining an international website is inconceivable without multilingual customer support.
“Booking Group Corporation” also sought to find out the purposes for which executives most frequently use car rental services outside Latvia. The majority of respondents, 72%, indicated that the reason for renting a car is for tourism and leisure trips. The second most popular reason, cited by 30% of respondents, was for business trips and work assignments.
The survey results reveal an interesting trend: 10% of residents in leadership positions do not use car rental services outside Latvia at all, which means they prefer other modes of transportation, such as public transport or taxis.
“We recognize that a competitive and favorable price is a particularly significant factor influencing booking volumes, so we continually establish new partnerships with companies offering the best conditions and promotions,” says Alen Baibekov, adding that the company currently collaborates with more than 800 well-known car rental companies worldwide.
